Robert made a note that this girl was to picky to even fathom of how she had managed to survive in this world like that. "You know, we cant really afford to be picky...But I guess it's not my place to say what you can or can't eat." Robert stated clearly. At least he wouldn't have to share this pathetic excuse for a snack. Robert's grin faded at her stubborn attitude when he was offering assistance "Jeeze, I was only trying to help..No need for unnecessary stubbornness." he remarked noting that this girl did not like to receive help and he was not about to make an enemy for no reason. " So where you heading out to...miss...I never did catch your name?" he said smoothly trying to coax it out of her so he knew what to call her.
Nix rolled her eyes as the male commented on her dislike of food, she really didnt care. She never liked the horrible things, people had bought them in to her in the camp when the children needed vitamns. They were slimy and had no taste, so she was not having them now even as a theif. She felt a scowl appear one her face as he commented on her stubborn side and she shook herself, "Its a dying world, im free to be the person i am and there no point in hiding it" she said with a little glance upwards to the sky. It was true, why hide yourself when you could die every other day. She smirked as he asked her name though, "Im still holding towhat i said before, though you can call me shadow for now" she said with a little low chuckle.
Robert couldn't really argue with the girl about this she was right after all, it was a dying world and more then that everyone was free to be who they were. "Your right, I apologize didn't mean to offend you in anyway shape or form, just saying foods getting harder and harder to come across is all.." He stated clearly.
Robert let out a sigh of disappointment at first but couldn't help but chuckle himself "Alright have it your way then "Shadow" The stubborn one it is." he joked as he leaned on a tree for support. 'She is an odd one...But then again, She is very smart to have this kind of logic in this world...Maybe I am the odd one?' he thought to himself trying to think of where he would go next after this conversation was over.
Nix felt a grin widen on her face as she watched this male, she could tell they both knew things the other didnt but part of her also knew they could learn from each other. She almost wanted to ask him to stay the evening with her and maybe even offer hunting lessons in exchange for some of the stuff he clearly knew that she didnt, Well, maybe. She shook her head as he spoke back to her and then she smirked and nodded to him, "Hey, at least i gave you something. I could keep being a sod and give ya nothing to work with" she said with a little chuckle. This was actually turning out to be fun, she hadnt ever met a male she didnt want to see dead of really badly hurt before. This was so new to her, but a good thing too. "You didnt offend me, its hard to do that. It just really darn annoying when you older people think you know more than me because im just a kid" she said in a kinder voice that she rarely used anymore, no point in being agressive over a kind issue
Robert found it hard to focus on the conversation in the woods, after all it was in the open and trees were everywhere, cutting off his view. You never knew what could be lurking in these times but he found the focus he needed and chuckled himself when she gave him her reply. "That's true, you could be a sod if you really wanted to but that wouldn't be fun at all Shadow." Robert said watching her body language begin to lax up. At least she was warming up to him and not deeming him a threat anymore or if she was she was rather good at hiding it. "Oh I'm not trying to say I know more then you kiddo, I was just simply trying to offer my assistance is all." He said calmly losing focus once more looking behind him to ensure nothing was creeping up.
This guy was so on edge that nix found her own skin crawling when he looked around himself, every blooming time too. "Trust me, there's only one path in and out of this forest that hadn't been laid with snares and its the one i use to get out to hunt so i could be a huge pain" she said with a smirk as she glanced a little to her right. Her snares were little more than bark stretched out and a sharp stick but i could easily kill a rabbit and could easily shoot a large bit of infectious wood in to someones thigh so it worked well for defense. She smiled a little more as his words about not actually knowing more than her sunk in and she felt more at ease, she did like to think she knew more than most but of course she knew that just wasnt true and she was trying to kid herself a little bit if she thought that to her lonesome
Robert's eyes darted back to her quicker then ever, "This is not the situation to be worrying about 1 path or not, it's the unknown you have to worry about. At anytime something can happen and in a flash you can be dealing with more then you can handle. Being cautious is the only way to survive in this world now..." he said sharply.
Robert took in a deep breath and sighed "I'm sorry I didn't mean to go off on you like that it's just a lot of shit has happened to me so I need to keep a watchful eye is all...I didn't mean any offense if I caused any." he apologized hoping she would forgive him as he scanned his surroundings once more towards the direction of his small campsite. It was getting a bit to chilly for Robert's taste he had never been a fan of winter but then again he had never been a fan of being alone either and the company was far more reassuring then his camp.
Nix felt her skin crawl as the male spoke and she fought back a low hiss that grew in her throat, she managed it well enough aside a little sound. She shook herself as he took himself back and she shook her head in reply to him, "I can handle myself, i know how to hunt and i know how to track" she snapped back. She hated it when people spoke down to her, even if he took it back it still had been said. She gave a small sigh and then turned her head to look away in to the bushes, the wind that blew through was colder now. The night was close to them now, and she still had snares that she really should have checked on by now. Having someone around had thrown her mind totally and she knew she needed to get to the snares some time soon but also that she would need a fire to keep warm as well
Robert clenched his fist at her arrogance. Yeah sure he could handle himself as well but if people were to survive, You would have more of a chance banding together unfortunately Robert could see with the way this young lady carried herself there would be a lot more disagreements then there would be solutions should they become friends. "Alright look here obviously you can handle yourself. I'm pretty sure its safe to say 90% of the remaining people still alive can handle themselves...Or else they would be dead, Common sense dictates that. Now I don't know about you but I would personally rather be looking for survivors to bolster my chances of survival with. Maybe form a little band of survivors and work on making things easier and safer in the long run. The more people working towards one goal, the better your chances for success. When there is nothing but arguments or disagreements chances for success dwindles." He preached feeling quite better about himself for the way he had handled that comment. "And it is getting rather cold. Do you have somewhere to go that's close by?" he questioned his camp was big enough for 2 but not much bigger then that and he would have to grab more branches for a fire.
